Another Giveaway

I want to have another little giveaway because I just love having them! This is an older line of Moda-"Spring Meadow" and 2 additional yards for borders and binding.Also included in the book "Material Obsession" which is definitely eye candy!

A finish and an almost finish

I finished quilting the whirlygig quilt and am getting ready to watch some saved "The Closer" programs and stitch the binding on. Something fun to do on another hot day. The fabric is Arcadia from Moda. Close up of the meandering quilting.....much easier to do and easier on the hands than the circles were. My longarm is very smooth, but weighs 75 lbs so that may be why my wrists and hands were a little sore when quilting my last quilt.
Wild binding to use......I didn't have any yardage to match this quilt so I just picked out what Ithought would work. It is so soft......why are some fabrics so soft and others not so much so? I have even noticed it with Moda lines.
My coin quilt finished, washed and in all its crinkly glory! And crinkly it is! But it covers the old feet...yah!! Meant to show the binding which is scrappy using the leftover fatquarters of this collection.

If it's not a coin quilt then it must be a.........

..... whirlygig quilt!  I really have my favorites don't I?  I think that whirlygigs look so neat while showing off the fabric which to me is what a quilt is all about.

I am doing a little different quilting this time on my new coin quilt. I think it is called pebbles.  It is making for denser quilting, which is going take much longer.  I really like a simple meander best, but wanted to try something new.  Does anyone know if denser quilting makes a quilt heavier?

And another Coin Quilt!

I made another Coin Quilt.....are you surprised?!  I made this one for myself and finally made a quilt that is actually big enough to cover my body.  I always seem to make quilts that are too small and don't cover the old feet. ;-)

The fabric is "Mezzanine" by Patty Young.  It was a "must have" when I saw it in the Fatquarter Shop.

Getting Ready for a Baby Shower

I made these daisy cupcakes and had to show a picture. They turned out really cute.   I used yummy buttercream frosting with vanilla that I splurged on at Sur La Table.

Here is the baby quilt that I asked advice on......thank you everyone.  I think that it turned out nicely.
A little diaper/ wipe holder for her diaper bag.  I had lots of fun with this! I am going to make more to hold notepads.

Some baby bibs that I made that match the quilt that I am giving her. The above quilt will be from my Mom.
I had to make this one because I LOVE this fabric.  It is called "Starling" by Michael Miller.  I feed the birds year round and have so much trouble in the summer with the starlings eating all the seed and suet. LOL They can wipe out a suet cake in a day.
I am sort of tired now and plan to do nothing this evening but  watch "Shark Week" on Discovery Channel and go to bed early so I can read  The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, an excellent Australian author.

A Few Quilt Pictures......

This is the only quilt that I have made using a magazine pattern.

This is not a good picture at all.  Didn't want to tire my quilt holder out!  That's my excuse and I am sticking it to it.

Finished Quilt

I have had to get a new computer......my screen was going and other strange things were happening. So my son convinced me to get a MacBook. I am really enjoying it. I used a Mac when I taught school but that was "many moons ago".

I finished this quilt yesterday that was being done on the Old Red Barn Quilt Along. The fabric is Heather Bailey's "Pop Garden and Bijoux". I saw a few quilts in this fabric from the quiltalong and had to be a copycat. I love it, but it is a little small because I just had a jelly roll of the fabrics.
Notice how Mollie always gets in the picture! Every time we go out on the deck to take pictures she gets in front.
