Coin Quilt Love!

I haven't posted lately, but I have been sewing a lot lately. I love the look of coin quilts so I made 2! I used charm squares which makes for pretty fast piecing. This is Oh, Cherry Oh by Moda. This one is Baskets of Flowers by Moda.
I finally quilted this one from a couple months ago. Again, fabric by Moda......see a trend
here. ;-)
Quilting up close.....I sort of struggled with quilting this one....had a hard time getting into a rhythm.

I am not setting any etsy records selling quilts, but I have been making coffee sleeves to sell on consignment for a local independent coffee shop. They do sell pretty well so I made a bunch of them this weekend.

I hope that everyone is well and had a great weekend. Jenna Z. please email me your address so I can get the string quilt blocks out to you. Thank you.

Sunglasses Needed and Giveaway Results

I wish that I had 12 things to giveaway! I really appreciate everyone stopping by and leaving a comment. It was a little tricky this time picking.... scroll down and you will see why ;-)
The winner of the pinwheel blocks is Jacque and the winner of the string blocks is Jenna Z. Please email me your addresses and I will get the blocks in the mail on Monday. Oliver ended up picking the winners again because.......
His brother ate 4 before I could get them out of his month. I think he is going to have to be fired from this giveaway stuff. LOL

Here is my 4th of July picnic quilt that I finished piecing last night. It is from a Moda Jelly Roll-"Red, White and Bold" by Sandy Gervais. Definitely a quick quilt to piece. I plan on quilting it tonight after I go to my local quilt shop's "One Day Only" 12 hr sale. Be still my heart!

Have a great weekend everyone and thank you again,
Cathy

Still Cleaning Out Project Boxes-giveaway

I am still cleaning out my project boxes of projects that I have started , but haven't and won't end up finishing. This is a small pinwheel quilt project that I used an iron on half square triangle interfacing on. It makes the blocks a little stiff, but I am assuming that they will soften up when washed or they can probably be torn off.. To go with the blocks are these fatquarters. If you would like this project( no charge), please leave me a comment.
Better put your sunglasses on for this one! ;-) This is from a Moda Jelly Roll and is sort of like a string quilt.

I finished sewing all the small squares that need to be added to each other. Included is a yard of the paisley and enough of the red for binding. If you would like this one again( no charge) please let me know. Can't promise that my piecing is too great.

I have last years Fatquarter Shop's Christmas BOM for sale. I did not get the finishing kit, it is just the blocks and to make it worse I can not find one envelope for Block 10. But, the fabric "Peace on Earth" by Moda is still available so you could get yardage to make up for the shortage. I am asking $30 plus $5 shipping. I haven't even taken them out of their envelopes and I have the this year's new BOM coming. The reason I am selling this is that I already have a quilt in progress using Peace on Earth.
Thank you for looking and helping me empty those boxes!

Quilted and Crinkly

My Allspice Tapestry quilt is all quilted, bound, and washed. I just love the feeling when you first open the dryer and pull your new quilt out. You don't know exactly how much it is going to crinkle up and it is all warm and snuggly. Of course, in humid Richmond, you don't exactly snuggle with it! ;-)
Have a good rest of the weekend,
Cathy

Tumbler Quilt-finished!

I finished quilting and binding the Tumbler Quilt that I was working on. It turned out well, but I think that I like the smaller tumblers like the one that Carol finished on "Brown Quilts". Just a simple meander pattern.
I love hand sewing binding and discovered how well silk thread does with it. I am a big Aurifil thread fan. I use it for piecing, applique, and some machine quilting. But, I have found that silk thread doesn't fray at all and doesn't twist like cotton threads do. I got the silk thread from Joann Fabrics. They don't have a huge color selection, but the thread melts into the quilt.

What thread do you use for binding and do you like hand binding?
Take care,
Cathy

Fabric, Glue Stick, and Shoe Box

I was getting ready to put this shoe box in the recycling bin when I saw what a cute shape it was. So, a whole glue stick (that stuff is sticky) some fabric and a few minutes and messy fingers later, I had this storage box. Wouldn't a sewing room be cute with lots of these boxes in neat fabrics? Hope everyone is doing well and having fun working on quilty projects. So, what are you working on??

Tumbler Quilt and Leftover Blocks Giveaway

I have been working on a tumbler baby quilt for my etsy shop and have some leftover blocks if anyone is interested in them. I cut them with my AccuQuilt Go so they are big! Like 6" big. I alternated mine with white on white fabric. I have enough leftover blocks for someone to make a small baby quilt.
Here is one of the tumblers up close. I love this fabric.

I also have some extra striped fabric that is in the same line to use as binding. I will include some of that also.

Please leave your email address if you would like this. If I have more than one person I will draw a name.
Hope everyone had a good Friday,
Cathy
