Finished Quilt

I have had to get a new computer......my screen was going and other strange things were happening. So my son convinced me to get a MacBook. I am really enjoying it. I used a Mac when I taught school but that was "many moons ago".

I finished this quilt yesterday that was being done on the Old Red Barn Quilt Along. The fabric is Heather Bailey's "Pop Garden and Bijoux". I saw a few quilts in this fabric from the quiltalong and had to be a copycat. I love it, but it is a little small because I just had a jelly roll of the fabrics.
Notice how Mollie always gets in the picture! Every time we go out on the deck to take pictures she gets in front.

I hope everyone is staying busy quilting and is doing well.
Take care,
Cathy

Summer Cleaning - fabric for sale;-)

I have been going through my fabric and picked out some that I will not be using. I also want to order a roll of batting so if I can sell some of the fabric, I won't feel as quilty ordering 30 yards of batting! LOL

First is a quilt kit that I bought from the Fatquarter Shop last year. It is a "Cottage Charm" kit from Anka's Treaures for Henry Glass. SOLD Here is the fabric....just beautiful and there is quite a lot of it. If someone made scrappy quilts this would be enough for quite a few. I am asking $50 plus $8 shipping.

A Maypole Jelly Roll with 2 yards of additional fabric for borders and binding. $25 plus $6 shipping. SOLD

22 fatquarters called "Anticipation" by Sandy Gervais for Moda. This is an older line and just gorgeous. $30 plus $6 shipping SOLD

This is 16 fatquarters that I have leftover from a quilt I made. There are not all full fatquarters, but are some of them are. I have some partial yardage that I will put in as well.
The fabric is "Shangri-la" by 3 Sisters for Moda. The yardage is a pretty green from the line and as well as some brown fabric from Moda. I am asking $20 plus $5 shipping. SOLD

And last is some cream and tan fatquarters that would go beautifully with reproduction fabrics . There are 12 total and I will more than happy to unroll them and take more pictures if you are interested. I am asking $20 and that includes shipping. SOLD

I hope that this isn't annoying to anyone.......I try to have good prices just as I would like. I do sell on "Sew its for Sale" but would rather try on my blog. I can take paypal or checks or even well hidden cash.
Thank you for looking!
Have a great rest of the day,
Cathy

Suggestions for a Baby Quilt

I have this really cute fabric and a few more FQs and want to make a baby quilt with it. I want to showcase the apples and owls so I wouldn't want too small of pieces. Doe anyone have any suggestions on a pattern to use? I have ironed the FQs and are ready to roll, but this one has me stumped. I have extra green fabric like the brown. Thank you and take care,
Cathy

Coin Quilt Addiction

I think that I may have a problem......I am totally in love with making coin quilts. This is my 4th one in just a few weeks. I used more white in this one, because I wasn't sure if I had enough fabric. Turns out I have enough to make another quilt. I apologize for the picture quality, but DH isn't home and my quilt holder was being sort of whiney! LOL I can't take good pictures anyway and it doesn't help when the holder is rushing you! ;-) Close up, simple meander quilting.
I finished piecing this one today. I fell in love with this fabric because I love wild birds.

Cute little birdy!

Allergies are kicking my b*tt, so I am going to snuggle with Oliver and handstitch binding down tonight.
Take care all,
Cathy

New handbag

We are home and I spent last evening in my sewing room. I made this tote with fabric from Michael Miller. Here is the inside......I just put one pocket in it rather than wrap around pockets. I have found that one can have too many pockets in a purse. LOL
So, what are your plans this upcoming weekend? I plan to quilt the 2 quilt tops waiting in line and then make a quilt like the ones at the Old Red Barn Quilt Along.
Take care all,
Cathy

Camping and Quilting!

Off to do some camping!
I actually do get out of my quilting room once in a while. We are camping right outside of Charlottesville, Va. The campground is at the base of the mountains so it is a little cooler than at home. We do a lot of outside sitting, but I can't stay away from quilting for too long. ;-)

My sewing table.....sort of small but it does the trick.

My ironing board....a lot of patience is required to get those blocks pressed.

Take care,

Cathy

Quilting makes the quilt

It is always amazing to me how much quilting makes a quilt come alive! I haven't washed this one yet and that will further make it finished. I got all the binding sewn on at a family picnic yesterday. My little cavalier wasn't too happy that he couldn't sit in my lap though.
My Mom has a Cavalier also, and we have decided that they are dysfunctional......Her dog because he is antisocial when company comes and Oliver because he has horrible seperation anxiety. We don't really mind because they are our babies! LOL
Hope everyone is doing well, we are having a nice soaking rain,
Cathy

More Coin Love

I made another Coin Quilt......this time using "Wonderland" by MoMo for Moda. They are so much fun to make especially with charm squares. I added a border to make it a little bigger.....love the border fabric.

I quilted the "Oh, Cherry Oh" one and need to quilt this one and the "Basket of Flowers" one. I do try to not let my quilts pile up. LOL
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Please be careful if you are traveling anywhere.
Cathy
