I have this really cute fabric and a few more FQs and want to make a baby quilt with it. I want to showcase the apples and owls so I wouldn't want too small of pieces. Doe anyone have any suggestions on a pattern to use? I have ironed the FQs and are ready to roll, but this one has me stumped. I have extra green fabric like the brown. Thank you and take care,
Cathy
Cute prints - maybe a nine patch with the alternate block using the larger prints. It's going to be adorable no matter what you do.

ReplyDeleteLove the owls... great color in these prints. I have an idea -- will send you an email cuz it includes links and I can't seem to get my copy/paste command to work in this comment box.
Come and check out the Heather Ross quilt i'm currently making - it's perfect to showcase motifs and there is no measuring involved! You just start with the owl, put on borders to frame it and add other fabric in big pieces until you reach a 12 inch size.
ReplyDeleteI think a dissapearing 9 patch would be perfect. If you use the apples in most of the corner squares then they will stand out above the rest.
ReplyDeletePlus, the dis.9 patch allows for smaller squares so you can easily make a baby quilt without it looking like huge blocks.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are great! Thank you so much for the suggestions. I ended up going with a nine patch alternating with plain squares. I will post pictures after I quilt and wash it. It is for my mom to give to my niece at a shower we are giving her in August.
ReplyDeleteI am going to have some leftover fabric from the fatquarters( probably about a half of each one) if anyone is interested. If I have more than person that wants it, I will do a drawing.

I'd love to have the leftover fabric!!! I was just going to leave you a comment about how much I loved the fabric.
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeletePlease email me your address so I can get the leftover fabric in the mail for you.
Thank you,
Cathy
