What quilt do you have hidden away that needs to be finished?

Do you have quilts lurking in baskets or boxes that haven't seen the light of day in weeks, months, maybe even yikes! years???? Probably a lot of us do. I was reading on a message board the other day all the projects that quilters were working on and I think just one person said that they only work on one quilt at a time. The rest had loads and I mean loads of projects going on. Well, this little quilt needs to come out of hiding and get finished!I have been working in little dribs and drabs on this thing for 2 years now. I still love the way it looks, thank goodness, and will be so pleased when it gets finished. It has the be the most intricate quilt that I have made.
My goal, is to put the box out where it will be seen whenever I am in my sewing room and work on it a little bit before I work on anything else. One day it will be finished!!!
Do you have a project that needs to come out of hiding....please let us know and maybe together we can get that special UFO finished!
Have a great day,
Cathy

  1. i have so many that need finishing. i usually get to some point with what i am making and if it gets hard i have a tendency to set it aside...plus i can not help myself from starting a new project. seems like there is always something. i think i have about 8 unfinished projects lying around....and yes some of them are years old.

  2. I have a huge problem with making a quilt top and never making it become a quilt. Many, many are hidden away here and there in my house. So much more fun to start a new project than to tackle one of those you pushed back way back when.

  3. Hi Cathy. I only have two quilts that I have set aside and not worked on for awhile. Only cuz the holidays and gift-giving quilties had to get done. And, now, I have not picked them up cuz they're not exciting...I am having too much fun with other (better) ideas. And, I don't work on just one thing at a time. ha! Right now I have about several projects in some sort of progress.

Holy Schmoly woman. That quilt is so dang gorgeous! If, at some point, you decide you don't want to be burdened with it...well, I will gladly take it off your hands. I love it! It is more intricate than your usual...how do you like working on it?

    You ROCK!

  8. Is it a UFO if I haven't even started it yet?? So, yes, I have to start and finish a quilt that has been waiting over two years. Yours is awesome.

  9. I am a pretty good finisher, but every so often I get one that just drags. I find it gets done if I give it a few minutes each sewing day--complete one step. Even a quilt as complex as this one will certainly be done before the end of the year that way. And it will be worth it. That is a great quilt!

  10. I have a queen size red and white that is still folded and I don't know if I will ever take it out!
I may take it apart before I would ever quilt it.
Hand quilters have a hard time finishing tops since it takes so long...I don't have that many years left...I think
BUT...if I had one like yours, well I'd have it finished in a heartbeat!

  11. I think I am down to 1 quilt top that needs borders added and one quilt that needs finished piecing. But I have requests from 3 people for quilts. They are like family members. I'm beginning to think I should advertise and start taking orders.
