Camping and Quilting!

Off to do some camping!
I actually do get out of my quilting room once in a while. We are camping right outside of Charlottesville, Va. The campground is at the base of the mountains so it is a little cooler than at home. We do a lot of outside sitting, but I can't stay away from quilting for too long. ;-)

My sewing table.....sort of small but it does the trick.

My ironing board....a lot of patience is required to get those blocks pressed.

Take care,

Cathy

  1. Oh, how I love to see quilting in a RV. We have a 5th wheel and your set up is very similar to mine. I do have a folding utility table, so I can work outside. Have fun traveling and quilting......jac in WA

  2. Wow- you are a serious quilter! When I go camping I leave it all behind. But usually it's because we're hunting and a rifle and a sewing machine just don't mix. :)
    Enjoy your trip!

  3. Your airstream is so cute!!!! I love the setup. How fun!!! I hope the weather stays nice for you...color me jealous. I'd love to be in the mountains.

Your machine reminded me -- I looked @ an Activa the other day --- thinking of buying an extra machine to keep on our motorhome. It was a great machine. I was impressed with it.

    Enjoy your trip...

  4. Lucy, I love my Activa...it is so solid and is quieter than my 430. When I had to have the 430 serviced I was really glad to have it. Two weeks without sewing would be too hard on this old girl ! I highly recommend it.
Camping and sewing is a nice pasttime.

  5. I am just laughing so hard at this, Cathy. I love camping, and I love quilting, but I have never combined the two. (Of course, I go camping with a huge pack of kids, so there wouldn't be time!) You go girl!

  6. We were camping this weekend, but I left my quilting at home. Looks like you did a great job making camping and quilting work together.

  8. You don't see those Airstreams out here much at all. Seems to me you are having a lot of leisurely fun. TTFN ~Marydon

  9. Cathy I love seeing that others can not leave home without their machine as well. I always take my machine and accessories when we travel to our van. I love your quilts. They have inspired me to try one of your designs.
