Fun swap and finished quilt top

Heather from "Quiltin like Crazy" and I are having a great swap. She made a gorgeous quilt top from Moda's Swell fabric line that I fell in love with. I asked her if she would mind if I copied her exactly. She had the better idea of swapping it for some quilt fabric. I will be giving her a Jelly Cake from Moda and some April Cornell fabric. Don't tell her, but I think that I got the better end of the deal. Her blog is linked on the left hand side of my blog. Be sure to visit and see the beautiful quilt that I am getting!

Here is the finished quilt top that I worked on early in the week. I love the way it turned out. It was a fun quilt to piece.

Closer up of the borders......I just love that cherry fabric.
Have a great quilty weekend! I am seriously thinking of finishing all my WIP's before I start a new quilt. I think that would be so liberating to have a completely clean slate.

  2. Your quilt is adorable. My son's girlfriend saw it [ she is peeking over my shoulder ] and now she wants something out of that material. She loves cherries.

  3. Finish all your WIPs before you start another one? That is an admirable idea. I'm not sure I will even be able to finish all my WIPs before I die -- even if I never start another quilt ever. = ) Your quilts are beautiful!

  4. Yep -- that is a darling quilt. Love the fabric and the pattern. Reminds me of those button candy things I use to get as a kid.

Wow -- that's some quilt machine. Which manf is this?

Re: the WIPs -- I have the same urge sometimes. So for sure go for it. I have a bigger urge to use up some of this stash - so I decided I should make a goal to do at least one or two projects from the stash every year. I think Sister's Choice use to have "Finish it Friday" or something like that. That seems like a good idea -- applying a time element. Her projects though are like big ones. I don't know how she does it.
